Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, And attend to your herds; For riches are not forever, Nor does a crown endure to all generations. When the hay is removed, and the tender grass shows itself, and the herds of the mountains are gathered in, The lambs will provide your clothing, And the goats the price of a field; You shall have enough goat's milk for your food, For the food of your household, And the nourishment of your maidservants. Prov. 27:23-27

Thanksgiving Day

Normally we would spend time with Mom's family on Thanksgiving but this year we broke tradition and did our own thing. We had our dinner at Rubies Cookhouse, a local restaurant! Much funner than having to cook it all up ourselves. After being stuffed full we decided to work off some energy by taking a walk at the back of our new farm. It is gorgeous back there, lots of colorful trees, cornfields, the pond, a bright blue sky... I have lots of pictures of fall color but they' re not all on the computer yet so I'll have to wait to post them. We move in a week and a half.
Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compasions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
" The LORD is my portion," says my soul,
"Therefore I hope in Him!"
The LORD is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.
It is good that one should hope and wait quietly
For the salvation of the LORD.

Sounds like a fun day!

Wow, only a week and a half eh?

It must be exciting... and scary.

Though maybe you're old hat at moving...??

No, I'm not old hat at moving,it is exiting, and it's scarry how much packing we have to do before then. I guess it will all get done some time, some how, at the last minute. It's too bad your family never came to viset us while we've been living in this house.

Wow! Sounds like you had fun. I can see how skipping all the preparing of the meal would be nice. I did a ton of it this year. Bt the time we sat down to eat I was too tired to eat!!

You must be really busy right now. Can't wait till we get to see your new house!

Hi Boekee family! We just found your blog through Ralph and Sharon's - how fun to "see" you all again! Rich and I both said that we've been thinking about you lately - glad to hear that you're doing well. So - moving are you? Well, I guess we've heard bits and pieces of your happenings, but it's nice to read about it from you. We'll try harder to keep in touch, dear family! with love from Rich and Cher all here :)
